Artifacts

The first artifact that I wanted to share is a shirt I received after volunteering with my BSP group. It’s important to me, because it’s the time I first felt like I connected with some people within BSP and the people I have served with are still some of my friends today. The community service itself was also very special to me as I was able to help clean/ paint lacquer onto their fence that will help keep children safe. It didn’t feel like a chore but was rather rewarding being able to help a great organization improve just a little bit more. Looking at the t-shirt makes me want to help volunteer more and has given me a drive to help in the community more.

About Me

My name is Maximilian Hilpert, my current intended major is Finance and my interested areas are eSports and Computer Hardware. While eSport is currently an unknown industry to the majority of the population, it is fast growing and will soon catch up to more traditional sports such as NBA, NFL, and MLB. For example, Twitch, a gaming streaming service, sold for almost one billion dollars to Amazon four years ago and some competitions that have a prize pool of almost 25 million dollars are good examples of what eSports looks like now and the tremendous potential for profitability investor see today. With this growth comes sponsors for events and almost no sponsor fits better than computer hardware companies as they are an essential part of the eSports community as the majority of games are played on PCs. I have grown in the eSports community and that some of my goals in the next four years are related to the industry as I continue to grow as an individual and build connections for a potential job within the industry. When it comes to personal growth you should know that I am originally from Germany so I can speak German fluently, and as I am half Japanese I have a strong interest in both cultures that I hope to explore via a study abroad program, language learning, and clubs.
