The cocoon tree-house – A piece built and imagined by 3 designers (Hugo Urrutia, Abdullah Omar Asghar Khan and Karjvit Rirermvanich) for a school project. I not only find the entire structure and form fascinating but the idea behind it as well. They’ve created a shelter out of wood (tree’s) much like what I am creating.

The outside of the structure. I really enjoy the form and design of the structure as well as the way in which it opens up at the ends.

I love the way the light is reflected through the openings and throughout the gaps in the wood. A look I am planning on experimenting with, with my own work.

I also think that it’s great that one can actually go inside the piece and sit. An element that I’m really interested in incorporating in my own work. I really love the idea of creating spaces as shelters for protection and security.
