Interpreted Journey

SUMMARY

We began by taking our original journey and selected the most important parts of the it. With these specific places on campus, we researched different camera angles and how they reflect different moods based on how the photo is shot. We strategically decided on the mood we wanted to portray and used the elements and principles to make these ideas come to life. In a way, we had these sketches tell a story. In my case, it was something visiting earth for the first time, and being skeptical.

VISUALS

REFLECTION

Before this project I never knew about the different camera angles and how they would give different moods to the viewer. Watching movies I got the feelings that they are intended to give off, but I never realized how easy it was to give that feeling. The research in this process helped me gain insight in how the angles such as long shot, close-up, canted etc. can make the viewer feel completely different with the shift of one angle. I also feel that my sketching ability has grown from this project, the class critiques helped me realize what I could fix and greatly improved my drawings.
