Year in Review

Last August, I came to the Ohio State University unsure of what to expect and how it would effect me. I am nearing the end of my first year in college now, but never took the chance to stop and think about how I’ve changed. Looking back throughout the year I suddenly realized how much I have grown, and how happy I am to be the person I am today.

Attending OSU has given me the chance to evolve myself into someone I have always strived to be. Coming from a small town, where there was little diversity in terms of race and hardly any resources for young adults, made it hard for me to become the person I wanted to be, academically and personally. OSU has given me the opportunity to be engulfed in the diversity that Columbus has to offer. I have been able to shed my ignorance in many of the issues that the world faces today, and gain knowledge through amazing experiences. From attending numerous seminars covering world dilemmas to academic events about the environment, I have acquired insight on many topics that I know will benefit me in the future.

Environment Sustainability

Environmental Sustainability

For my artifact I have uploaded the power point presentation of environmental sustainability UN millennium goal. This project was a group effort consisting of three other students and I in my international affairs scholars class. The powerpoint was created to lay out the various aspects of environmental sustainability including causes, effects, and efforts made to towards progression.

This particular powerpoint makes a significant artifact since it was the first group project I’ve done in the scholars program. It represents a a milestone in my college career and brought more knowledge and skills for my disposal. This artifact enlightened me not only of a world issue, but also gave me a positive experience with working in a group. I hope I encounter much more artifacts like this one.

About Me

Senior Pic 1

I take pride in considering myself as a hard worker, whether it be in the classroom or out in my community. That sense of achievement when I reach my goal is the source of my motivation, but only lasts a moment as I immediately strive towards another goal. Although I enjoy my personal goals, the feeling of unity when working together in a community is ultimately what I live for. As I keep going on in my life, I hope to continue to find new groups to make a difference with because in the end, we cannot go forward without the courage and hope that a community provides us.
