Speaking Up and Speaking Out

Recently, I was invited to speak on the WOSU program, All Sides with Ann Fisher. You can listen to the program and watch a live stream of the even here: https://radio.wosu.org/post/special-education-and-funding#stream/0

This was one of the most terrifying things I have ever done. However, even though I did not want to do it, I felt that the topic was important, critical even, and I was grateful for the opportunity.

I was disappointed with my answer to the last caller, and I tried to reach out to her on the show’s Facebook page. I posted information for her there that I referred to in the show. If you’d like those links to the NPR series on the dyslexia, you can find them HERE (4-5 short radio clips on general information about dyslexia from 2016, March through December) and here (March 11, 2018; Emily Hanford did a great series that included a district local to OSU) and here (an interview with Henry Winkler, who has dyslexia). The last link also has a clip on the same page about a dyslexia font that has since been debunked as being helpful for individuals with dyslexia (it isn’t).
