Pictured above is my team from my first case competition, hosted by the Student Consultants for Non-Profit Organizations (SCNO) club at Ohio State. Our team originally had five members, until two dropped at the last moment. I was one of the few freshman that were accepted into the only case competition available to first-year students during my first semester. With hours of research and prior case making knowledge from debate, I played a critical role in creating and presenting our solutions to a 9 judge panel. We advised that the non-profit organization “A Kid Again” increase its’ amount of volunteers through targeted recruitment strategies based off demographic trends and individualized retention techniques. In addition, we proposed that “A Kid Again” should establish a social enterprise by creating a retail store which would increase revenue and volunteer retention. Although we did not place at the competition, I gained value experience and great friends.
