Diary of Systemic Injustices Showcase

In Inner Mongolia, China, a new type of learning mode was promoted in Mongolian teaching schools. Starting this fall semester, the first graders and the seventh-graders are going to learn several subjects in Mandarin instead of Mongolian, also the difficulty level of mandarin class will be increased to the same level as the native tongues. Textbooks were changed, several essays about Mongolian culture were removed, instead, there were Mongolian translations of Chinese essays added. Mongolian students are already learning one more subject than Chinese students, they have to spend more time than others to study, these changes for first graders would most likely result that they will not be able to learn their first language well. Because of the environment, more and more students are forgetting Mongolian, they do not even use Mongolian when they are outside of schools. In the future, there will be not much of a difference between Mongolian Chinese and Chinese. This new policy instantly aroused the dissatisfaction of Mongolians. Lots of Mongolians wanted to do something for their own culture but are not allowed to do anything. The protest march is illegal, even peaceful ones. If anyone wants to do a protest march, it is necessary to ask for permission from the police station. And of course, all requests were rejected. Mongolians with job positions could not even express their feelings on social media, they were asked to delete their posts, or they will lose their jobs. Parents refuse to send kids to school, and they were threatened that they could not keep their job positions if their children are not sent to school. These actions are totally illegal, but they still do it anyway and Mongolians could not do anything about it. They would send messages to citizens that only two subjects are going to be taught in Mandarin, and no other adjustment will be made. The public does not know what is actually happening, thus, lots of people believed that Mongolians were being unreasonable. Public opinions are controlled. I believe people reserve the right to state their opinions and protect their culture. Our world is a beautiful place because it contains so many different cultures, instead of curbing them, we should protect all the culture. I love my country, but this is an unacceptable systemic injustice towards my nation. For this wrong to be righted, all nations should share equal rights on using their native languages. The video I attached is parents are having a peaceful protest at school, they were trying to pick up their kids and not send them to school but rejected by the authorities.
