Finals Survival Guide

It can be very hard for a college freshman to know how to make it through her first bout of final exams.  Here are some tips from me:

  1. Eat A LOT.  Sustenance is important, papers and and tests can be very draining.  I’ve been eating 4 or 5 meals a day to keep up my strength.  This is also a great method to use up leftover swipes and dining dollars.
  2. Keep up your good karma.  Along with it being the season of giving, being nice to others will also boost your karma and help you out with your grades. (even if you don’t believe in karma, a this point, you’ll try anything)
  3. Accept that you just will not have a regular sleep cycle. I’ve trained my body to think that 3am is 9pm, allotting for extra study time.
  4. Use a reward system.  Every time you kind of accomplish something, let yourself rejuvenate by watching Star Trek: Voyager on Netflix, this will motivate you to get those assignments done!
  5. Finally (pun 100% intended), remember that grades don’t define your life.  If you do badly in a class, THAT’S OKAY. It’s literally not the end of the world and crying/stressing only helps you to have break outs, making the situation even grimmer.

Emma King

This is my friend Emma.  We are studying together for finals.  She is single, so if you enjoy mock trial, Monster, and Buzzfeed: Unsolved**, let me know and I’ll arrange a meet up.

**Are ghosts real? No.

On another note, finals are finally starting.  Most of mine are papers, so that’s easy enough.  I have 2 actual exams that I am preparing for; history and logic. Overall, I’ve had a good semester.  I have an internship, a position in College Democrats, and I’ve made lots of friends.  Next semester I will take a more active role in planning my future endeavors, including planning study abroad trip, brainstorming ideas for a thesis, and making more connections in the Columbus area.

Jewish Quiz

I uncovered this artifact from the wild world of Canvas. I was very proud of only taking 2 tries to ACE this quiz. Next time I need motivation for my Jewish Modern History course, I will be able to look at the good grade I got after studying, and tell myself to, “Just Jew it.”

Artifacts

[Artifacts are the items you consider to be representative of your academic interests and achievements. For each entry, include both an artifact and a detailed annotation.  An annotation is a reflective description of the artifact that attempts to communicate its significance.  For more information, go to: http://honors-scholars.osu.edu/e-portfolio.
