Helix/Tri-Beta recruits students who have sophomore status, declared a major in the College of Biological Sciences (Biochemistry, Biology, Entomology, Evolution and Ecology, Microbiology, Molecular Genetics, Neuroscience, Plant Cellular and Molecular Biology, or Zoology), and achieved a minimum GPA of 3.20. The selection of members is based on the information contained in the application as well as a 10-minute interview. Interviews will be conducted on October 21st, 22nd, 26th, and 27th from 5:30-7:30pm over Zoom (link will be provided upon interview offer).
Some criteria used by the membership committee to evaluate applications are:
- Desire to be active in Helix/Tri-Beta
- Past record of service and leadership
- Personal statement
Please note that meetings are on a bi-weekly basis on Tuesday at 6pm lasting 30 minutes to an hour. Attendance is required and expected of all members, however if there happens to be a conflict let us know in the application.
