Researchers in the Entomology department at The Ohio State University are excited to announce a new project: Healthy Home Habitats!

Healthy Home Habitats (HHH), is a collaborative project between researchers at The Ohio State University and local health departments in the Columbus area. The primary goal of our work is to find mosquito control methods that are also pollinator friendly! Working with local health departments, we hope to find effective management tactics that find a balance between reducing mosquito populations and vector-borne diseases for public safety and supporting native pollinators.

We are currently conducting field work for the 2025 season. Next summer (2026) we are looking for at least one site willing to have municipal sprays applied to their yards. If this is something that interests you, we encourage you to browse our site and reach out to us via our contacts page!

This project is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) through a competitive Agriculture and Food Research Initiative grant (AFRI).
