Brianne is a biological anthropologist with research interests in evolutionary biology, human biological variation, and the human dispersion to the New World. Her main research focus has been studying the origins of variation in different anatomical regions of the skull using past populations in South America. For her dissertation, she utilized amultidisciplinary approach of comparing 3D cranial morphological data with Y-chromosome STR data, mtDNA haplogroup data, geographic distance, and climatic variables from different macro regions in South America.
During her fieldwork for my dissertation, she was able to collect 3D scans of crania from a variety of museums in North and South America. Prior to her studies at OSU, she completed her M.A. in Anthropology at Texas State University and a B.S. in Astronomy at the University of Texas at Austin.
