Call for Abstracts GRS 2023

2023 Horticulture and Crop Science Graduate Research Symposium


The 2023 HCS Graduate Research Symposium (GRS) takes place on March 30th & 31st, 2023 in Wooster. The GRS will be held in person.


All students, staff, faculty, and visiting scholars, within and outside the Department of HCS are invited to participate.


Only graduate students working for HCS faculty’s labs are eligible to participate in the Flash Talk Competition (Categories: Research and Proposal)

Winners will receive monetary awards. See the attached flow chart to help you decide between a research and proposal talk here.

HCS undergraduate students, post-docs, staff, and visiting scholars are welcome to present non-competition flash talks.

Visit other pages on our website under the “Graduate Research Symposium” tab to review the schedule, competition guidelines, and rubrics. Points will be deducted for violations of the guidelines.

Registration and Abstract deadline is Friday, March 3rd.

Everyone who plans to attend the symposium must complete the registration form by March 3rd.

If you are presenting a flash talk, please complete the registration form by Friday, March 3rd, and submit your abstract by Friday, March 3th.


Judges Needed! – We are seeking faculty, staff, students, visiting scholars, and post-docs to serve as judges for the flash talk competition. If you are interested, please sign up in the registration form by Friday, March 3rd, 2023.


The event is organized by the Horticulture and Crop Science Graduate Student Association.
