Spring Break Review

It seems as if spring break has gone by in a blink of an eye. This spring break instead of relaxing the whole time, although I did a lot of that, I focused on working. I spent a couple of days working at Off-Campus and Commuter Student Services from open till close. I gained a lot of knowledge from this experience especially with helping customers on the backend of our website.

A couple weeks ago, I applied for an internship with the North Arlington Animal Clinic. About two months ago, I decided that I wanted to attend Veterinary School after I graduate undergrad. Because of this, I have been a lot of research about classes I need as prereq for vet school as well as searching for places I could get experience in the vet field. I found the North Arlington Clinic on Handshake and saw they were looking for an undergraduate Veterinary Assistant. Because I have no experience, besides pets (right now, I have three dogs and three cats), I was worried they would not accept me. Wednesday, I got a call from one of the head Veterinarians at the clinic! We set up a meeting on Friday afternoon. I assumed when he said ‘meeting,’ the meeting would be an interview for the position. On Friday, I found out that they had already accepted me for the position and the ‘meeting’ was to introduce me to everyone! This Wednesday is my first day of the internship. I am going to be shadowing someone in the clinic to see exactly what I’ll be doing in my position. I’m so excited!

Add sleeping in and cuddles with kittens, that’s all I did spring break!
