Business Model Canvas

When we began this entrepreneurship-based project, we were very  far from where we ended up. At first we wanted to build a treadmill that could power itself and other utilities by volition of the exerciser’s movement. Then we pivoted to making an eco-friendly gym. Due to competition and very high start up costs we pivoted once again to a chair that could be hung from any wall at any time. This is what our final BMC discusses. We conducted market research mainly in the form of a survey handed out to our target market. We learned the incredible importance of doing market research before your product goes into production because from the results of our survey we learned that demand for the product was lackluster. Even though the chair wasn’t a roaring success, we learned a lot about testing ideas quickly and efficiently.

About Me

My name is Liam Harrod and I am a first year ICE Scholar at Ohio State University. Ever since my formative years I’ve been extremely interested and business and how it forms the backbone of society as we know it. As such, about half a year ago, I started my first business, Thumotec Labs, which is a supplement company. We’ve been growing fairly quickly and now offer three products on Amazon and our own site. I also like to help fulfill my creative side by writing — short stories, novels, whatever. As much as I can, I like to stay active, preferring to ski (long-time skiier) and swim.
