Alice Simon

Alice Simon, Ph.D.

Alice Simon is an Associate Professor of Economics at Ohio Wesleyan University.

She has been a member of the faculty since 1985 and is currently chair of the Economics Department.

She earned her Bachelors degree from
Queens College, CUNY, her masters from Cornell University and her
Ph.D. from The Ohio State University.

Her teaching areas include
monetary and fiscal policy, labor economics, and consumer behavior.
Her areas of interest include consumer sovereignty and international
product assimilation, consumer search theory as related to
current technology and technophobia. Dr. Simon has conducted
policy research for the federal government as a staff economist for
the Department of Health and Human Services and at the National
Governors’ Association. She has also served as data archivist
for the National Longitudinal Surveys of Labor Market Experience.
She has served on the Executive Board and as President of the Ohio
Association of Economists and Political Scientists.
