New face at Hamilton County Extension

Emily Masters Kahrs, is the new Program Assistant, 4-H Youth Development

We welcome Emily Masters Kahrs.

Emily graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Agricultural Communication.  Her career path has included:  TV news, public relations and marketing, print reporting, publicist work, digital content strategy, and most recently, teaching.  Emily taught English to adult learners from many different countries, headed up a senior citizen refugee program, and taught citizenship, which many of her students attained as a result of her class. Last year, Emily accepted a long-term substitute teacher position for a third grade teacher and did that until coming to us, in Hamilton County.

Emily herself was an FFA and  11 year 4-H member who exhibited market lambs and took a variety of general projects.  She now assists her two children, Evan and Karrigan, who are active in 4-H, in Warren County.  “I am looking forward to working with the youth in Hamilton County and growing 4-H in diverse communities,” she said.  “It’s exciting all of the opportunity, education, and fun that awaits.”
