Module 2: Communicating and Collaborating

The most useful thing that I have learned in this module is the importance of communicating online and understanding the fundamental factors of online communications.

One thing from this module that I have already put into practice is, making my first impression a reputable one through the use of emails. This works by, representing yourself the best way possible by, using proper language and elevated syntax. In addition to being concise while getting the point across in a lengthy descriptive manner.

The ideas from the module that I could put into practice are, ways to write a discussion posts on a blog. After reading the article “6 Essential Ways to Write a Brilliant Online Discussion Board Post”, I have learned that, the six ways to actively engage in discussion posts is complete the following:

  1. Do your homework
  2. Wake up your classmates with a strong argument or perspective
  3.  Be relevant.
  4. Bring something unique to the post.
  5. Prepare your response in a text editor before you post.
  6. Leave participants wanting more.

I am convinced that using these six steps above will generate a great discussion post response. All of the factors above will simply prepare you in developing a relevant statement secured with facts and evidence. The advice that I would give to students based on what I’ve read during this module is to take part  in group communications. Group communications allow a more collaborative engagement, meaning sharing thoughts and inputs with others, and receiving feedback as well as providing constructive criticism. As a result, you will view numerous prospectives from various individuals.
