STEP Financial Wellness Component (Sept. 25-Oct. 21)

Please note the information below regarding the required STEP Financial Wellness Component. (This information is taken from the email you received from Chelsea Black.)  As part of STEP, you are required to participate in a two-part financial wellness program through Scarlet and Gray Financial.  This opportunity is designed to help you prepare to make wise financial decisions and better understand your finances during your time at Ohio State and beyond.

IMPORTANT DATES:

Financial Wellness Window Opens: 9/25/2019

Part One Due Date: 10/7/2019

Part Two Due Date: 10/21/2019

STEP Financial Wellness Component:

Part One (due 10/7/2019): The first part will be the completion of two online courses through the online iGrad platform that will guide you through several fundamental financial concepts.  The courses should take around 45-60 minutes total to complete and will help prepare you for part two of the experience.

Part Two (due 10/21/2019): The second part of the financial wellness experience will allow you to engage in an individual, face-to-face one-hour session with a trained financial wellness coach.  These sessions will allow you to dig deeper into the concepts presented within the online courses, to develop a financial plan for your education, and to work on daily spending habits or address any other questions that you may have around personal finance.  This is your time to help get any questions around personal finance answered and clarify any topics that may be an area of concern.  The knowledge gained from the program will also help to enhance your written STEP Signature Project Proposal and inform the budgeting of your STEP Fellowship.

NOTE: When your window opens, you’ll receive a detailed email from sgfinancial@osu.edu that provides you with step-by-step instructions for completing this component.  Scarlet and Gray Financial will be tracking the completion of both the online courses and the in-person session on your STEP dashboard.

Should you have any questions, please email Scarlet and Gray Financial at sgfinancial@osu.edu.
