In March of 2019, I attended the “LEAD” Conference for National Student Council and National Honor Society, in Chicago. I was selected from my chapter of Student Government at my High School in Hamilton, Ohio to attend this conference that consisted of multiple breakout sessions and information sessions that served the purpose of enhancing our leadership skills in different ways. This artifact is important to the development of my leadership skills that also pours into other aspects of my life, such as the classroom. Some of my biggest take aways from this experiences includes the significance of positive leadership, open mindedness, and ability to try new things when leading or being apart of any team. Many new ideas were brought to light that I was able to bring back to my Student Government chapter in high school. One of which was the position of a Social Media Coordinator that allowed for information to be reached to all corners of the school. I was later selected to fill that role, and the promotion of fundraisers through social media was proved to be successful.
