#8: Book perspective

The three pictures below are the three difference perspectives I used to create my drawings. I utilized a 3-point perspective, 2-point perspective, and 1-point perspective, respectively, to draw the sketchbook. The only object I had in my room that has the closest to a book was my sketchbook, which is why I was only abled to practice drawing the same book. I also did not have color pencils available to me, so I used an assortment of graphite pencils, and grey scaled the images.

  1. Hi Jinju – Nice work! I think it is great you are playing with the definition of “book” here. Your sketchbook is definitely still a book! I love seeing them on the lined paper, and how they break the flatness of the lined page with the shadows you incorporated!

If you still have any questions about perspective since you completed this blog post/ our in-class work, let me know. It is easier to explain in conversation, but that being said, when in doubt always trust what you are seeing first! Then you can use the tools/ rule of perspective to guide the making of your drawing. Learn “the rules” of vision to break them — as the artist you have the power to make the drawing you want to see!
