Introduce of my family
Hello my fellow mates at The Ohio State University. My name is Guo Zhongqi. I came from China , Changchun city exactly, a small peaceful city in the northeast of the country which has long and cold winters. I have a nice family consists of my parents and myself.

My dad is an engineer. He is always serious with his job and loves his career so much. Also ,he is a strict father who also gives me a lesson when I had made some mistakes. So he influences me a lot in many ways such my interest in engineering and parts of my characters. And my mom is a nice lady who holds the family’s daily lives. She is a good cook that I will always miss her meals when I’m away from home. As for myself, I think I’m a quite outgoing guy. I often have many things to talk with my friends. I’d love to share my feelings, and experiences with them. One main hobby of mine is sports. I have played soccer since middle school and I’m a big fan of Manchester United. Besides soccer, I also watch basketball games but l am not quite good at it. Another thing I would like to do at my space time is travelling. Travelling could widen my horizon and will give me some different customs and life styles which will generate some considerations to improve my own life style.
Some of my stories in the past
Next, I want talk about some of my past. I was such a naughty boy before I went school. I enjoyed playing jokes on other kids that caused them a lot of troubles. Then thing got better when I met a very strict teacher at primary schools. She set up so many rules for me to keep me well-behaved. After then, I learned be quiet and could concentrate on study. I got well with my math and English, however, Chinese is really not my specialist. The poems were so tough for me to understand maybe I had a lack of a sense of literature. Though I was not so naughty then, it doesn’t mean I was not active. I joined the robot and skating club in my school and I got a much benefit by joining those two clubs. The first one built my rigorous mode of thinking, while the former gave me a healthy body. As time went by, I came to middle school, the most important stage in my growth. I met some nice friends at that time, and we still keep close even until now. Most of my hobbies have also been developed since then. For instance, I played soccer with my classmates after school so that I’m a good striker now. Then something besides heavy school works I want to mention in my high school is a relationship with a girl. She was my neighbor, not so pretty but very kind. She helped my a lot with my Chinese course while I helped her improve her math. Gradually, we had no more things to talk about except study, just like talk about some films, and sports games. Then we started a relationship. Although we ended it now , it was a good memory in my busy high school time.
My idea about my OSU life
Finally, I am going to imagine my future in the Ohio State University. As a student, studying well is my first mission .So I will spare no effort to achieve more in academic. As we all know, OSU is a wonderful university which has a nice fame all over the world especially the reputation in the engineering field. I chose to learn civil engineering here to enhance my professional skills, so that I could got a valuable experience and have advantages in job hunting. Meanwhile, there are lots of opportunities to get in touch with people comes from different regions with different cultures.

As one of the biggest University in the USA, the OSU has students from every corner in the world. I am excited to make friends with them and know something about their cultures. Studying abroad is also a trip; America is a fantastic destination for me. So I have some plans for my vacations. I want to go to some big cities such as New York and some peaceful countryside in West Virginia where beautiful country music developed .In a word, I’m coming to the OSU to achieve my academic goals and enjoying a different life as well. I hope I will be satisfied with my day here when I graduate.
