About Me

About me is some information and fun fact of me!

Greetings everyone! I’m Guo Haonan, and thank you for reading my personal profile! As a normal MongolIMG_1974, I was born Chifeng the city in east part of Inner Mongolia. And at the age of three, my family moved into Hohhot, a beautiful city which means Green City.Living in Jinan, Shandong now, I’m so glad to see the fresh springs and sure, Baotu Spring the best spring in the world. Again, the city’s REALLY BEAUTIFU! I have a pet dog called Naonao, which means noisy in Chinese, and definitely he is! He’s a Bichon Frise.

And about my interests, I’m an active and creative man, so of course I love making things on my own and, I’m now on the process of making a air fan without blade. But there’s still a long way to go : ). I’m a fan of books, novels to be more precise. Now I’m writing my own novel call Emperor of Ruins, in Chinese of course. Just like some single, engineering majored young men, I love playing video games, especially the DotA2, short for Defense of the Ancient. I have played it for 5 years but, still in the ranking of 3300, which is just so so, nether too high nor too low.

Well it’s hard for me to find my photos, because I don’t like selfie or take a photo. I’m fully aware that I’m not a pretty man so, it’s embarrassing to take selfie :P. Being a transfer student major in Electric and Electronic Engineering to the Ohio State University this autumn, I’m studying Electrical Engineering in Shandong University now. Before studying in SDU, I lived and studied in Hohhot for 17 years. I mentioned I love making interesting things, little electrical things. So I have a box contains all the things and tools I need. There’re wheels, axis, screws, gears, etc, etc. Also I have plenty of screw-drivers, soldering set and even a electric drill! I call it the WOW box because, everyone who sees the box will yell out wow. I’m really proud of this.

Shandong has always been a major province in Chinese history, and it has fostered plenty of great thinkers and educationalists like Confucius. Being continuously dipped in the culture of Confucianism, SDU has formed a rigid and strict teaching and learning atmosphere, and that is the main reason of my transferring. It has hindered me from fulfilling my dream by many aspects. In SDU, the majority of students have to spend their spare time on studying in library and putting great effort into improving their grades. Compared with those student clubs in America universities, those ones in SDU have less sense of presence and quite limited influence on enriching students’ extracurricular life.

I am well aware of the significance of learning and mastering the required knowledge of any majors and I have tried my best to do that. Still, I want to study in a more dynamic university, where I can find active students and supportive faculty members working on cultivating students’ diverse interests. Thus, I chose to be a transfer student to OSU. I’m going to spend 5 or 6 semesters to finish my bachelor, and the electronic engineering is what I plan to major in, more specific than EE.

Anyway, that’s me. It’s my WeChat account number below and, talk with me!

  2. Nice to meet you, Haonan! It sounds like you are incredibly creative–you’ll fit in well at OSU’s engineering program! I’m especially impressed that you can find the time to write a novel, given all that you do. Keep it up 🙂

  3. Wow, Haonan, you leave a totally different impression on me. At first, we just chat with each other on Wechat, by which I thought you were a typical science boy interested in PS and video games. However, after reading your personal profile, I learn more about you. You are a very loving man to keep a pet :). Also, making interesting things on your own will help you attract more attention from girls. I really really adore boys who can figure out everything like superheroes. I am looking forward to meeting you at OSU~~

  5. Hey Haonan! I have never been to Inner Mongolia and Shandong Province, but I really want to visit them some day. Would you like to be my tour guide? They must be as beautiful as you said.
It is admirable that you are able to make so many things by yourself, and those things looks good. It is easy to notice that you are a hard-working and creative person. Hope that you are able to gain what you want in OSU.
It is good to know that you are also interested in Chinese culture as I did. Ha-ha!
Best wishes! I am looking forward to seeing you at campus.

    • Thank you for your comment sooooooo much, Shiyao! I can’t wait for listening you playing Pipa!

  6. Greetings Haonan! Through your first photo I firmly believe that you are a handsome guy with elegance because the man who can identify red wine or Tequila usually has a good taste. I am very delighted to know that you come from Inner Mongolia since my hometown borders on its south area. This means we have similar culture and lifestyles, that will be helpful when we are getting along with each other.

To tell the truth, I am also a big fan of aviation. I used to watch videos which record how the pilots execute their missions. I was shocked by the spectacular views which only provides for the crew members of cockpit. Anyway, I think flying an aeroplane is such an amazing experience. It is a pity that I am not able to be a pilot due to some physical reasons, however, I am still dreaming of being a pilot!

    • Wow it’s so cool, Zhen! We’re quite in commen and it’s not just because we’re both engineering-majored young man! LOL
Anyway, I’m looking forward to meeting you at campus!

  7. Hi Haonan, glad to know you! I am very thank you for invite me to the wechat groups of our class. I even didn’t know about that we’d got wechat group before that. You are such a friendly person that you give me your wechat contact the first time we talk. Thank you for being my friend.
