Grace Guggenbiller :: Interior Design Major at The Ohio State University
Background
I am a graduate of Fort Recovery High School, located in the small village of Fort Recovery, Ohio. Living in an environment of just under 2,000 people provided me with the urge to explore new areas and types of design. Interior design has always been a passion of mine – from admiring the designs of residential areas on social media to creating digital floor plans in my free time. While interior design is my focus, I also have previous experience with different areas of design, including fashion and visual communication. As a former athlete on both the volleyball and basketball courts, I understand the importance of collaboration and communication. Participation in these activities created a large emphasis on working with someone, rather than for someone. Bringing this background to The Ohio State University will allow me to expand and deepen my education within the design program.
Career Goals
My desire to become an Interior Designer stems from the aspiration of making clients fall in love with their newly designed spaces. I aim to own a design firm that focuses on preserving, improving, and creating a quality environment that is accepting of all. Being able to improve upon my skills throughout my time at OSU, as well as my future in the field, interests and excites me the most about the design process. I strive to create spaces that translate client’s ideas into renovated spaces combining aesthetics, comfort, and practicality.
