Shape Grammar Part 1

With a focus on the design elements and principles of shape and movement, I created a composition using professional construction techniques to show the deep meaning of a simple shape.

Shape Grammar Part 2

Using the concept of Notan in this composition allowed me to explore positive and negative space within Adobe Illustrator.

Structure

A linear perspective illustration of my dream studio workspace which prioritizes balance and harmony.

2D to 3D Translations

A dynamic 3D composition made of icosahedrons, which focuses on scale and asymmetry.

Observation and Communication

An excursion to Buckeye Donuts shown through illustrations of buildings in and around OSU’s campus.

Pattern and Abstraction

An ocean-inspired greeting card that uses color to differentiate between positive and negative space.

Manipulation and Communication

A digital visual definition composition for the “mashed up” sweatesque (sweater and grotesque) in 3D isometric form.

Sketchbook

An inspirational sketchbook designed to my standards of function and aesthetics, with a surprise element.

Layering Space

A light-activated composition that displays the deep structure of the forest, along with the organisms living within it.

Body Modification

A spandex corset made for female performers in the circus setting which focuses on the idea of supporting movement instead of restricting it.

Dynamic Pages

A stop motion animation constructed of cardstock, inspired by the songs “Quietly Yours” by Birdy and “Too Good” by Drake.

Gifting Design

A personalized cookbook for my mentor, Kayla Goins, that reveals the love language of cooking through laser etching.

Checkmate

Redesigned chess pieces in slice forms that hold a feminist theme and bring awareness to gender equality.
