About Me

Hello all! My name is Alex Guerra and I live in a suburb of Columbus, Ohio. I have been a nurse for 13 years. I worked as a STNA while going through LPN school, and then completed an accelerated LPN-RN bridge program at Chamberlain University while working full time. My career has allowed me experience in a variety of settings; an OB-Gyn office, long term and skilled nursing facility including Alzheimer’s care, Mount Carmel West Med-Surg/ Bariatric floor for 4 years and 5 years in Endoscopy/ Pre-op.  I began working for South-Western City School in January 2020. I am the nurse for 1 elementary, 1 intermediate (5/6 grade) building and 1 middle school (7/8) building.

I am really enjoying my new role as a school nurse, as it has been a huge change for me from caring for adults. I am seeing first hand how our schools impact our communities. By providing so many resources and outlets for students, we are contributing to their families as a whole. Our interactions with children are so important and can have a lifelong influence on them.
