According to the “OSU Code of Student Conduct: 3335-23-04 Prohibited conduct (A) (4) Submitting plagiarized work for an academic requirement. Plagiarism is the representation of another’s work or ideas as one’s own; it includes the unacknowledged word-for-word use and/or paraphrasing of another person’s work, and/or the inappropriate unacknowledged use of another person’s ideas;”, the instances of plagiarism above are a violation of the OSU Code of Student Conduct. If you don’t revise the plagiarized paper, according to “rule 3335-23-02 of the Administrative Code”, “you will be subject to disciplinary action by the university”.

It’s difficult for me to avoid plagiarism because I just learned what’s plagiarism. So far, what we should do to avoid plagiarism is to (1)avoid using too many same words and same structure in the original article, (2)don’t forget the citation and quotation mark, (3)don’t misunderstand the meaning of original article. If you are not sure about if your own paper is involving plagiarism, you may ask your instructor to help you revise your paper.

There are some applications for you to check if there’s plagiarism in your paper such as Turnitin, PaperRight, PaperRater.

Photo Reflection

The first job which is recommended by Payscale for me is the Vice President (VP) of Sales. According to Payscale, “A vice

president of sales typically performs on a region level (such as East or West coast) or on a national level. Because they work on such a large scale, a VP of sales may perform a wide variety of duties. They normally supervise and manage a number of sales managers to ensure that product development and sale strategies are being implemented on a company-wide scale. The vice president of sales normally reports to a company’s board of directors on revenue on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis; as a result, this position requires an ability to interpret numbers and statistics and develop strategies to increase sales and staff efficiency. A VP of sales must work diligently to establish their products in their given market and refine company policies and strategies to increase revenue, while identifying potential issues with products or their marketing. A typical day for a VP of sales includes direct communication with their subordinate sales management staff and analyzing current sales figures to develop ideas about trends or changes in the market.” I think it’s a good choice for me. First, according to Payscale, most common majors for the Vice President, Sales are Business Administration, Management and Operations. My major Economics is somewhat related to these recommended majors. They are all about operating firms, making money and economy. According to Payscale, “Vice president (VP) of sales is a highly specialized executive position that typically requires a high level of education, experience, and leadership. The highest paying skills associated with this job are Leadership, Business Strategy, Team Leadership, and People Management.” After learning courses about these recommended majors, I can get these skills to be a Vice President (VP) of Sales. Second, the median annual salary for a Vice President (VP) of Sales is $132,724 in United States. I’m mainly pleased with this salary if I live along. But if I live with my girlfriend or get married, I will expect a higher salary which maybe $220,000. To get a higher salary, I should have more than five years’ experience in related jobs, according to Payscale, “Experience has a moderate effect on pay for this job. Most people in this job have more than five years’ experience in related jobs.” Otherwise, the Vice President (VP) of Sales only requires a bach

Li Long, the man in this photo, is the Vice President (VP) of Sales of Rolls-Royce in China. I want to be a Vice President (VP) of Sales like him because I like cars. http://image.baidu.com/search/index?tn=baiduimage&ps=1&ct=201326592&lm=-1&cl= 2&nc=1&ie=utf-8&word=劳斯莱斯%20李龙

elor degree which is not hard to get. Third, according to Paysclae, the job satisfaction is 88% which is really high and the job stress is 21% which is not too high and the job meaning is 55% which is median. I’m satisfied with these data which is acceptable. In my opinion, the importance of satisfaction and salary is depending on everyone’s different pursue. For me, I would prefer a higher salary than a higher satisfaction. Because I pursue a high-quality life which costs a certain amount of money. For examples, about cars, I must buy luxury brands and the car must be high-end version. I really need a high salary to afford what I want to buy.

The second job which is recommended by Payscale for me is the Manager of Underwriting. According to Payscale, “An underwriting manager manages the process of ascertaining client eligibility; that is, they supervise the employees who work directly with clients to assess whether or not they are qualified to receive the company’s product. The manager might also work directly with clients. Most often, underwriting refers to the business conducted by financial institutes such as banks, credit unions, and other lenders; underwriting is also common in the insurance and real estate industries. An underwriting manager typically has his or her own office and spends the day working directly with other employees and/or clients. They verify employment documents, perform background checks, assess eligibility and risks, and prepare paperwork. The underwriting manager is responsible for making eligibility decisions as well. The underwriting manager must have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, and they must be able to efficiently communicate with and delegate to employees. To succeed in underwriting, the manager must be able to communicate effectively in verbal, nonverbal, and written forms. Relevant formal education is generally not required to be a manager in this field; however, a postsecondary degree in finance, business, or a related field may be preferred. Often, a high-performing underwriting manager may be promoted to higher-level managerial positions.” I would regard this job as a second choice. First, according to Payscale, most common majors for the Manager of Underwriting are Business Administration, Management and Operations which are all the same as those for the Vice President (VP) of Sales. So, the first

reason is just the same as that of the Vice President (VP) of Sales. Second, according to Payscale, “Managers of Underwriting who are practiced in their profession and carry more than 10 years of experience make up close to three-fourths of Managers of Underwriting. Pay fluctuates from $61K to $133K per year, but expected earnings average $85K annually. Total cash compensation for Managers of Underwriting runs from $61K to $133K depending on bonuses that can occasionally exceed $22K and profit sharing that can reach almost $12K. Medical benefits are awarded to most, and a strong majority earn dental coverage. Job satisfaction for Managers of Underwriting is high.”

Compared to the manager of underwriting, the Vice President (VP) of Sales is more suitable to me.

Personal Profile

Self-introduction

I was playing billiards with friends in Jinan, Shandong Province.

Hello everyone. My name is Gu Zheming and I’m 19 years old. I come from Jiangyin, Jiangsu province, China. My hometown is a well developed city, though it’s small. There are lots of factories in every town of this city and my parents own a printing factory which makes the boxes of the white spirits. I usually stayed with my parents in the office on weekends, so I watched lots of movies. I like action movies such as ‘The Fast and The Furious’, ‘Transformers’ and ‘007’ series. Every weekend, I go to the cinema to watch movies with my friends at OSU. Recently, I watched ‘La La Land’. The heroine is beautiful and the hero is handsome. Beyond that, the movie is so boring that I just fell asleep from the half of movie to the end. In addition, I like to

play billiards and I play with my friends on weekends in the lobby of the dorm. I’m also so interested in cars that I study different types of cars and compare them in different aspects. I drove car everyday after I got my driving license until I came to OSU. Last summer, my family took the self-driving travel from home to really far places which the farthest city is 3000KM away from home and there were lots of mountain roads. I am proud to say that I drove half of the whole travel. Otherwise, I am used to reading news everyday after I get up. I’m really concerning about the state affairs.

Me before OSU

I went to my primary school and middle school in Jiangyin. Since that I once changed my name when I was10 years old, some classmates and teachers always called my old name and I needed to correct them every time they made this mistake. However, I didn’t feel embarrassed at all because it is my pleasure to remind others of my new name and I’m very pleased with my new name which my parent gave the good wish to this name. What’s more, I had performed many times in my

school event. My favorite performance is at the voluntary activity in a nursing home. We sang several songs to them and listened to their stories which contained many enlightenment from these aged people. I was being in a good relationship with an elder man which I called him ” grandpa”. He is such a spirited and inspired man who used to be a lieutenant in the army. He told me a lot of interesting, touching and thrilling army stories which has enlightened me to many useful life experiences. He taught me to be a thankful and responsible man when facing difficult situations and to try my best be a better man in the future.

Me at OSU

This was the “Kick Off” at stadium at the beginning of fall semester.

Now I’m studying at the Ohio State University which has the best football team and the biggest gym of all of the American university. I sometimes like to watch football competitions and is excited in OSU’ s game with other teams of different university. In addition, I prefer to exercising in my free time. The biggest gym that  contains many different sports equipment attracts me very badly. Talking about the studying place, I quite like the 18th Avenue library more than the Thompson library because the 18th Avenue library are open overnight. During the final exam period, I can spend more time in the library to study without disturbing my roommate at nights. The 18th library is al

so quiet and clear and there is a cafe that provides me a cup of coffee to rest and eat something when I’m hungry. Therefore, I like OSU so much that I gave up other university to come here to study. My major is economics and I chose this to be my major because I like to understand how economics affect the world and I’m good at analyzing data. World market is worth to search more and in my opinion, I need to be qualified well-developed knowledge on world economics to work in a bank or some financial companies. This is my whole plan in my four years study!
