My first semester at OSU wasn’t easy, but I’ve definitely grown in my time here so far. At the beginning, I was unsure of what I wanted to do after realizing I wasn’t happy with my major; physics proved to be far more difficult than I imagined, and I could easily see how much further ahead the other students in my class were. I’ve struggled with the class throughout the semester, but now I have changed my major and will not have to worry about such difficult material in the future. Instead, I found what I’m good at and what I enjoy, so hopefully any more tough classes I encounter will not be as stressful for me. Additionally, at the beginning of the year, I was having a hard time meeting people. I moved away from most of my good friends I had at home, so I felt lonely. Although it took a little while, I eventually met more people who I can call my friends. Overall, the transition into college wasn’t easy, and it definitely took a lot of adjusting. However, after dedicating one full semester to finding my place at OSU, I’m confident that next semester will be much smoother.
