Double Edged Sponge and Scraper
Double Edged Sponge and Scraper in Use
This video shows the sponge and scraper in use. The sponge end is used to clean while the scraper end is used to scrape off food.
This video shows how the product has different sized scrapers that rotate out from behind the main scraper. The user can choose which scraper size meets their need.
Rotating Plate
The rotating plate has a circular waterproof surface that fits nicely at the bottom of any sink. It is large enough to use with large dishes that cannot be put in the dishwasher or are not dishwasher safe. The remote control is connected by a waterproof wire and can be placed on the counter next to the sink. The four buttons for the different modes: slow, fast, pulse, and stop are color coded to make it easier for the user to control quickly. The large buttons are easy to hit with one finger so that the user does not need to put down their dish scrubbing utensil/ washcloth in order to operate the device.
In the following video, Denver demonstrates the use of the rotating plate prototype and explains its function. The nonslip surface of the plate allows him to effectively scrub this large bowl with the use of only one hand.
Double Sided Suction Cup Holder
This tool consists of a waterproof board with suction cups on both sides. The design would have one large suction cup on the bottom and many, smaller suction cups on the top for versatility of dishes. This prototype on features a large suction cup on the top and bottom but still demonstrates function of the tool.

Video of using prototype tool
This video shows the prototype of the double suction cup holder design. This prototype shows sticking the tool to the sink, attaching a dish, washing the dish, and detaching the dish from the tool.
Bed of Bristles
The bristle bed will consist of a frame covered in bristles. The frame is pictured here:
The frame would then be covered in bristles to scrub the dishes against as shown here:
In this video the user is shown washing a dish with the prototype. The actual product will require more than one suction cup to prevent sliding.
Removable Silicone Sink Liner
This concept uses silicone to increase the grip a dish has in the sink while being scrubbed. The goal is to reduce the slipping of dishes while they are washed. To demonstrate the impact of silicone in the sink, a silicone ice cube tray was used, as seen in the image below.
The following video demonstrates the difference between scrubbing a saucepan in the normal sink and scrubbing it on a silicone surface. Notice how the saucepan barely moves at all on the (upside down) silicone ice tray.
