Artifacts

Reflecting back on my first semester at OSU, I was very shy in the first couple weeks on campus. I was not social like how I was before college, which was unusual for me. I even did not feel like I belonged at campus until I played a simple pick up basketball game at the RPAC with some people who were “acquaintances” to me. The beauty of sports is that it can bring people together, and that pick up game did that for me. I finally felt like I belonged at OSU, and those people I played basketball with are now some of my best friends, and I am grateful for that. This allowed me to be comfortable in my skin and to focus on my classes as opposed to finding friends. Although a basketball is a simple object, it represents a simple moment that really defined my first semester college experience.

About Me

Hello, my name is Will Grendell. I am an Accounting student in the Fisher College of Business with minors in Economics and Business Analytics. My involvements include being a Business Scholar and becoming member of the Accounting Association, and I intend on getting more involved. These involvements have allowed me to think critically about pursuing my passions and have helped grow my business mind.

Some of my future goals include studying abroad, obtaining my CPA certification after graduating college in 2022, and receiving an offer that will begin my career as an accountant. These goals reflect me as a person. The studying abroad shows my interest in foreign culture and how I love to travel. My goals of obtaining my CPA and receiving a job offer after college illustrates how I am a very concrete and focused person.

If I had to describe myself in three words, I would say hardworking, analytical, and happy. It is a unique combination that describes me perfectly. I like to be focused on my work and analyze everything that involves me; with that being said, I am a happy and social individual that loves to have fun as well. These characteristics are unique to who I am.
