StrengthsQuest Reflection

The StrengthsQuest assignment was very interesting for me to learn about because I never knew what my top strengths were. I also feel the strengths I found really do characterize who I am. My top three strengths that I got were Empathy, Positivity, and Achiever. I believe these three suit me very well because they all honestly go hand and hand with each other. I try and empathize with almost any situation. People’s feelings concern me and I always try and help someone. If someone is telling me a tragic story that happened to them, I make it feel like the story concerns me personally because it makes the other person feel a lot better. One of my main goals in life is to treat everybody with a kind heart and I have always empathized with people my whole life. I get joy out of other people getting joy. Since I empathize it only makes sense that my positivity is another strength because I try and make people better and look at the positive sides of situations. And when I do this, I am an achiever because I achieved my goal.

This is a photo of Nicole Conte. This photo really captures her whole personality all in one. I’ve gotten the chance to get to know Nicole pretty well over the past few weeks and I have learned a lot about her personality. What would describe her most is that she is so bubbly. Her warm, comfortable environment she creates with everyone is so nice and always has a smile on your face. She is a flutist and a music education major which is why she is holding the flute. She practices for 2 hours everyday and is a committed flutist. Every morning she usually has a cup of coffee so I had to get a picture with her holding coffee. Coffee just makes that bubbly personality even more welcoming. We go to the gym together a lot and that’s why she is wearing her nike free run shoes. She goes to the gym about 5 times a week and works really hard to stay fit. Now the reason I took this picture in her dorm is because her dorm is so organized. She is a very organized person and her dorm is one of the most creative and decorative places. It puts everybody else’s dorm to shame. Nicole has a great personality and I can’t wait to get even closer with her as well as the other arts scholars members.

About Me

I’ve been involved in the arts ever since I was born. Music and theatre are my two main passions. They have shaped me into the person I am today. I wouldn’t trade anything for music. Becoming a music educator and making music with students is my end goal. My music educators have had such an impact on me and I want to be the person who makes an impact on future musicians. I love the feeling of helping someone and changing their life in a positive way. The experiences I’ve had on stage are the moments I cherish and are the most meaningful moments of my life. Playing solos, or acting on stage gives me a feeling that’s like no other. Also, maintaining a GPA of 4.0 was hard for me, but I did it all through high school and am striving for the same academic success in college. I am a hardworking individual who always strives to do their best in any situation. Making the Marching band at OSU was a huge accomplishment for me and it’s has been one of the most rewarding experiences. I know I am on the right track with where I am headed and can’t wait for the future endeavors.IMG_2366
