SLF is spreading across Ohio including Greater Cincinnati. What can we expect short-term and long-term with this non-native pest? What should we do?? Should we sell and go west??? This presentation answers these and other questions by covering the biology, population dynamics, and impacts of SLF.

Nematodes on Parade: Beech Leaf Disease on Parade

Beech leaf disease (BLD) is an emerging and rapidly spreading disease of beech trees caused by the exotic nematode, Litylenchus crenatae mccanii. BLD is a serious threat to beech trees in urban and native landscapes throughout the Ohio valley. Disease diagnosis, latest information on disease biology and management will be discussed. Efforts to prevent the spread of the disease will be emphasized.

Box Tree Moth Update: Where Do We Go from Here?

Much has been learned about this non-native pest of boxwoods since the presentation on BTM in the 2025 Tri-State GIC. This update addresses some of the previous unknowns. More effective insecticide applications are being made thanks to a better understanding of the life cycle. Plant resistance has been documented through research. What’s the industry’s response? Your competition isn’t giving up on boxwoods.
