Laboratory for Greek Dialectology / Eργαστήριο για την Ελληνική Διαλεκτολογία

Following the model of the Laboratory of Modern Greek Dialects (http://lmgd.philology.upatras.gr), Distinguished University Professor Brian D. Joseph has established in the Department of Linguistics at The Ohio State University a Laboratory for Greek Dialectology.  Its mission is to promote the study of the dialects of the Greek language over all historical periods of the language — ancient, medieval, and modern.

Located in 120 Oxley Hall, it houses numerous books on Greek and Greek dialects, a computer with the Palasa recordings, and the Renée Kahane Collection of Dialect Material from Kephallonia (see the Projects page for more on these recordings and dialect material).
