Just one of the many Bluegill (Lepomis machrochirus) that we caught in The Scioto River Saturday 9/19. It was the perfect weather for a sampling outing! Not too hot, and not too cold for those of us who got wet. We saw some huge fish jump out of the water, and now we can’t wait to go back to try to catch them!
Today we had our first official lab meeting in the new lab! How exciting! Our lab members have some very promising projects that they are working on this semester. Our research here in the Aquatic Physiological Ecology Lab takes us from the streams in Columbus to the wetlands and waters of Lake Erie and all the way to Uganda. Can’t wait to see what great research comes from this autumn semester!
