About Me

Hi there, my name is Anna Grantier! I am currently enrolled in the College of Engineering at OSU for Engineering Undeclared. The two engineering majors that interest me the most are Mechanical and Industrial Engineering. I am a member of the Humanitarian Engineering Scholars (HES) program where I hope to attend a service learning trip later this year. At this time I am also interested in minoring in Humanitarian Engineering. HES heavily influences my career interests to combine my desire to serve with technical engineering. Around campus I am involved in the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and hope to get involved with more organizations later this year. I was a dancer for fifteen years, so I plan to keep practicing while at OSU. I also enjoy listening to music, being outside, working out and hanging out with my friends around campus.

Top Five Character Traits

My top five character strengths from the VIA character trait test are spirituality, kindness, honesty, gratitude, and humility. I can identify with all of these characteristics as well as the order that they are presented in. The first trait, spirituality, represents the morals I live my life by. These values effect my decision making and how I treat others on an everyday basis. Secondly, I portray kindness through showing appreciation to my friends in small ways. Whether that is buying ice cream, cleaning dishes, or just listening for my friends, I try to express kindness in these ways. Honesty is the third trait on my list. In my life, I believe honesty can always count for something, even if you make a mistake, being honest shows courage. The fourth trait, gratitude, is embodied through striving always be grateful for the people and experiences I have in life. This perspective allows me to have a positive outlook during trying situations. Lastly, humility is a trait that connects to me in how I select appropriate times to share accomplishments, such as in interviews. I feel as if all of these characteristics embody certain aspects of my life.
