Year in Review

-During my first semester I joined the rocketry team here at OSU. This was a great experience seeing how some of my knowledge could be applied and some of the many things that the university helps fund students to do

-Although I have not done as well as I would have liked to have done academically in my first year I have learned a lot more than I ever would have imagined. Not just in the classroom, but how to live independently for the first time. Taking care of myself physically and financially for an entire year on my own has been a great achievement in one step closer to becoming an adult.

Service Engagement

-In high school our drumline would play for the community at events such as Columbus Blue Jacket games and Race for the Cure

-I hope to continue to provide service to the community, not just by doing work, but by providing fun things to the community

-Challenging classes may make it difficult to do regular community service

-GES is a great program to keep me involved in the community and engage in community service

-Done a lot of community service through GES and have given back to my home community through service to the Library

Academic Enrichment

-I graduated valedictorian of my high school

-I hope to continue to do well in college and get accepted into my major

-Classes are very difficult and make it difficult to get high grades in the many classes I have to take

-There are many tutoring programs and office hours I can attend if I start to struggle more than I am at the moment to get myself back in track for success

-I have made it though my first year, planning summer classes to improve my EPHR

solar_panel_design

Our presentation was about the design of modern solar panels and how they can and are being improved lately. It had a particular focus on the use of solar farms and how efficient they can be. We chose this project because we were interested in future technology that could help the environment.
