Year in Review

Global Awareness: Coming from a high school that was lacking much diversity, I plan to take advantage of many of the diversity opportunities offered at Ohio State. I am looking forward to studying abroad in the coming years, in an effort to become more educated about the cultural background of others. I have attended events that were organized by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, as well as events exploring the differences in religions. I hope throughout my time at OSU I am able to appreciate the differences among myself and my peers.

Original Inquiry: During my time at OSU, I plan to participate in research in the Speech and Hearing Science department. I am interested in how language develops in infants with hearing loss and the new technology involved with cochlear implants. I also plan to participate in psychological research experiments.

Academic Enrichment: During my time at OSU I am planning on taking a rigorous Honors course load and intellectually engaging both inside and outside the classroom. I am exploring classes that I have no experience with and I am striving to achieve at a higher level than ever before.

Leadership Development: Leadership has been a huge part of my life and is something I plan to continue throughout my time at OSU. I am involved in a few campus organizations, including H2O, NSSLHA and College Mentors for Kids. I am taking steps to become a leader in these organizations and develop my skills.

Service Engagement: In my time so far at OSU, I have already become engaged in service and I plan to continue this. I volunteer at my church and at various organizations around Columbus with my church, as well as once a week through College Mentors for Kids with inner-city kids.
