About Diandra Gordon

DG Profile

 Diandra Gordon is a native of Columbus, OH and graduated from Hampton University in 2011 with a BA in Psychology and from The Ohio State University with a MS in Human Development and Family Science. She is interested in ending domestic violence, family wellness, underrepresented populations, the African Diaspora and bridging the gap between research and the community. She is currently a PhD Candidate in Human Development and Family Science at The Ohio State University, where her research mainly is concentrated on intimate partner violence or domestic violence. Ms. Gordon is currently doing research for her dissertation which focuses on a culturally adaptive family wellness intervention for African American families, Family Time Initiative.  Ms. Gordon plans to pursue a JD after completion of her PhD to better implement policy change surrounding domestic violence and family wellness.

Ms. Gordon currently serves as a member of the Trustee Board at Advent United Church of Christ, where she has held her position for 7 years. She also serves as a member of the Franklin County Children Services’ Malaika Advisory Committee and is a dedicated volunteer at The King Arts Complex. Ms. Gordon has been able to further the mission of local organizations such as Maroon Arts Group, GOREE Drum and Dance and Thiossane West African Dance Institute.  Ms. Gordon also enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, learning and spreading the African culture, and staying involved in the community by volunteering at local organizations.
