To me, the most important thing covered in this model is seeking out online resources. Especially in college, this is a very helpful skill. There have been classes that I felt I needed additional resources for as well as in my professional pursuits outside of the classroom, online resources have been tremendously helpful. As stated on slide 19, with online material you are no longer restricted to one perspective. With additional resources you receive the benefits of having material presented to you in a new way, additional background is provided and you can access this material at your own pace. Here are just a few ways I would recommend utilizing online resources.
Difficult Material – When studying for a test or quiz I try to write down subjects or problems I find particularly challenging. Even if I can eventually resolve my questions I still like to look for youtube videos or khan academy videos related to these challenging topics. By utilizing online resources I am having another person or source present the information to me and I am getting additional practice with the subject matter.

Projects & Research Papers – Often school projects will require additional research to be done to come up with nontrivial insights. It’s helpful to become familiar with online news sources, research publication composites, and online forums. Being able to sift through online material and organize helpful information will give you a lot of structure and insight when conducting research-intensive projects.

Professional Pursuits – Inevitable college cannot prepare you for all aspects of your profession or work-related interests. Online material can be helpful for learning a new skill or about a different industry. I often utilize youtube to help me prepare for industry-specific interviews. Learning a new skill online has never been easier with the resources out there currently.
