Hi!
My name is Michkayla Goins and I am a 23 year old student at The Ohio State University. In the future, I would love to use my Graphic Design experience to pursue Interior Design as my career.
I transferred from the University of Cincinnati (Blue Ash) campus and graduated with an Associates degree in Graphic Design. I wanted to transfer to OSU to explore more design majors and to go through OSU curriculum as designer to continue to learn and advance my skills. With Graphic Design, I have learned the importance of the design process furthermore, understanding how to create a good design through exploring color, texture, materials, form, shape, line, and etc… Graphic Design has improved my design skills and has made me fall in love with design altogether.
I wanted to take my experience from Graphic design and put it towards Interior Design to create a meaning to a space for others. During the first semester here at The Ohio State University, I did explore Architecture because I found the design of architect interesting. As I began, I realized that I was not just attached to the exterior/interior of a building or house but the human relation to a space. Architecture tends to be more straight forward and design is a consistent design process. I would like to transfer into the Interior Design program to use my knowledge from Graphic Design with the understanding of how color, texture, pattern, and visual aesthetic within a space can change how a space is intended to make one feel and interact.
I enjoy watching movies and tv shows and can recommend a lot of good ones to watch. However, I have 6 brothers and I am the only girl. I love spending time with friends and family as well. But here is my little 4 year old brother and the other two are 19 and 26 and then the rest I do not have many pictures of but they are 25, 26, and 28!
