After importing the template, follow the steps below to finish formatting your ePortfolio website.
Adjust general settings:
- On the dashboard, in the left-hand menu, under Settings click General.
- In the Tagline field, enter the text “Global Option in Business E-Portfolio” — This text will appear below your site’s title.
- Click the Save Changes button.
Adjust reading settings:
- Next, under Settings click Reading.
- Change Front Page Displays to the second option A Static Page and choose Home in the Front Page drop-down menu.
- Optional: You may also now restrict access to your ePortfolio. If you do not want it to be publicly accessible, scroll down on the Reading settings page and change Site Visibility to “Visitors Must Have a Login.”
- Click the Save Changes button.
Remove unused widgets:
- On the dashboard, in the left-hand menu, under Appearance click Widgets.
- In the Sidebar box, remove widgets by drag and drop, dragging each item into the available widgets list. Remove all widgets except for “Search” and “Meta.”
Delete the default template’s sample page and post:
- On the dashboard, in the left-hand menu, click Pages.
- Find the page titled “Sample Page” — This page was automatically generated when your site was first created and is not needed.
- Delete the page by hovering your mouse over it and clicking the Trash link.
- Next, in the left-hand menu, click Posts.
- Find the post titled “Hello World!” — This post was automatically generated when your site was first created and is not needed.
- Delete the post by hovering your mouse over it and clicking the Trash link. If there are two “Hello World!” posts, delete both.
Your ePortfolio setup is now complete.
View your ePortfolio site and compare it to the GO Template to confirm that it is set up correctly. If your site does not follow the GO Template’s format, review these instructions again. You may have missed a step.
