Year in Review

[ “Year in Review”  is where you should reflect on the past year and show how you have evolved as a person and as a student.  You may want to focus on your growth in a particular area (as a leader, scholar, researcher, etc.) or you may want to talk about your overall experience over the past year.  For more guidance on using your ePortfolio, including questions and prompts that will help you get started, please visit the Honors & Scholars ePortfolio course in Carmen. G.O.A.L.S.

  • Global Awareness: I will study abroad and learn about other cultures. This will teach me how to learn in different ways, and appreciate other cultures. I can become more aware of global issues through this.
  • Original Inquiry: Through being in the Arts and Sciences College, I am exposed to many opportunities in research. By participating in research, I am able to formulate questions and create procedures to answer my own questions. This teaches creativity and spontaneous curiosity.
  • Academic Enrichment: By being a part of an honors college, I am able to take honors courses. Through this, I am able to learn in depth about various sciences and social science classes. This will help in the future with my jobs, because I will have had a challenging education.
  • Leadership Development: Honors courses can teach leadership as well, because of the small class sizes. I am able to learn about professors, and lead class discussions. This will teach me to be more confident and committed to my education, and I can also work with peers to enrich my academic experience.
  • Service Engagement: I will become involved in clubs that give back to the community. Being kind and helping those less fortunate than me is one of my passions, and I can fulfill this goal of mine by becoming involved in service clubs and activities.
