Jeffrey H. Cohen

Our project integrates the expertise of five faculty members working on global mobility from the perspectives of anthropology, history, literature and film/media studies, as well as moving image production.

Dr. Jeffrey H. Cohen is a professor in the Department of Anthropology at The Ohio State University.  His research focuses on three areas: migration, development and nutrition.  His books include Eating Soup without a Spoon: Anthropological Theory and Method in the Real World (University of Texas Press 2015),  The Culture of Migration in Southern Mexico (University of Texas Press 2004), and Cooperation and Community: Economy and Society in Oaxaca. (University of Texas Press 1999).  Additionally, he has a co-edited book The Cultures of Migration: The Global Nature of Contemporary Mobility (University of Texas Press 2011).
