The Global Burn Initiative’s primary directive is to decrease the mortality rate associated with burn injuries in Senegal. We recognize that to be successful in this mission we must assume approaches of prevention, enhancement, and of continuity.

This tripartite approach to systemic change has the secondary benefits of positioning GBI to be of assistance in developing regional initiatives across West Africa, as well as supporting policies required at a national level. In order to leverage our experiences with other efforts across the world and to foster holistic collaboration, we maintain an alignment with the World Health Organization’s Plan for Burn Prevention and Care.
