Sometimes when you refresh a web page, old cached content still shows. Web developers may have made an update to the website your’re visiting but old cached versions of pages are still showing in your browser.

Each browser has a slightly different procedure for clearing the cache. Different types of information is stored in the cache like cookies, browsing history, logins, and ect.
Chrome
How to clear your browser cache in Google Chrome:
- You can type ‘chrome://settings/clearBrowserData‘ in the address bar to get to the browser settings where you choose what to clear.
- Or you can go to the three-dot menu at the upper right of Chrome to select More tools > Clear browsing data. Then chooce the types of cached data you want to clear (like: browsing history, cookies, or cached images & files) and click ‘Clear Data’.
Edge
How to clear your browser cache in MS Edge:
- You can type ‘edge://settings/clearBrowserData‘ in the address bar to get to the browser settings where you choose what to clear.
- Or you can go to the hamburger menu > ‘Settings’ > ‘Settings’ (again) > ‘Privacy, search and services’ > ‘Clear Browsing Data’ and click ‘Choose what to clear’.
FireFox
How to clear your browser cache in FireFox:
- Go to the hamburger menu and click on ‘Settings’. Then click on ‘Privacy & Security’ on the left. Scroll down to ‘Cookies and Site Data’ and click ‘Clear Data’. Then select with types of data you want to clear and click ‘Clear’.
