[ “Year in Review” is where you should reflect on the past year and show how you have evolved as a person and as a student. You may want to focus on your growth in a particular area (as a leader, scholar, researcher, etc.) or you may want to talk about your overall experience over the past year. The GOALS that have been provided have helped me establish what I would like to do throughout the course of my time here at Ohio State. After assessing each of these goals, I am sure that I would like to be involved in at least one study abroad program during the next four years. I also hope to be involved in the service engagement aspect which I believe I can do through Green Engineering Scholars.
[“Career” is where you can collect information about your experiences and skills that will apply to your future career. Like your resume, this is information that will evolve over time and should be continually updated. Over the past few weeks, I have been able to find out more about my interests in terms of what I would like to do in the future. When I came into college, I was sure and confident that I wanted to go into biomedical engineering. However, have recently found that I am not as interested in the field anymore. Alternatively, one of my old interests came back to mind about working with rockets and space exploration which has made me likely to switch to astronautical engineering. These first few weeks have truly helped me find what I am actually interested in through the classes that I am taking as well as the people that I have had the opportunity to interact with.
My name is Tanya Girish. I am from Dublin, OH which is 30 minutes from Columbus, so I have been a Buckeye fan for as long as I can remember. At Ohio State, I am a pre Biomedical Engineering major but am still exploring my other options. Here at OSU, I am a part of SWE and the Green Engineering Scholars. I am looking forward to possibly getting an internship to receive some experience before going on to get a job. I love traveling and hope to have a study abroad experience at some point during my time here. I can’t wait to explore all of the opportunities that are in store for at Ohio State from academics to extra curricular!
