Milestone #2: M.O.U./Project Plan

The pitch to the Director of the Management Development Programs at the Glenn College was an informal meeting.  We reviewed some of the strengths and weaknesses of the MAPS program and together identified the idea for the project.  We both agreed that reinforcement points would be a relatively low-cost addition to the current programming.

I receive little feedback because I did not come to the meeting with a predetermined project.  I simply went to the meeting with an idea.  From there, the project contact and I determine the scope of the project and what we believed I could accomplish in this short amount of time.

After pitching the idea to the Director of the Management Development Programs at the Glenn College, I worked with my adviser –  Dr. Rick Voithofer – to put together a list of tasks and timeline for completion.

My tasks and the timeline for successful completion of the project include the following:

A memorandum of understanding (MOU) between myself and Maria Mone, Director of Management Development Programs at the John Glenn College, where we both agreed on the tasks and timeline for project completion was created.  The MOU was fully executed on  January 19th, 2018.  A copy of the MOU is available here:

Reflection:

I did not struggle to get the MOU signed. We agreed on what steps needed to be done to get the project completed.  I believe this was a simple task because the project contact and myself created the project together.  Although I came up with the original idea, the project contact helped me understand what all would be need to be accomplished for the project to be successful.  Additionally, it has been a strategic goal of the college’s to implement some form of online learning into our current programming.  I pitched the project as a relatively low-cost way to accomplish that strategic goal.
