About

Hello, I am Anthony D. Gil, a first-year design student

I’m from a suburb named Dublin Ohio. As I was growing up there wasn’t much to do other than explore the forest and play with legos. My interest in design started small I would sit in my room and toil with my big box of legos. Eventually, I found myself inventing more elaborate lego pieces to fit my wild ideas. Since that time I would always be imagining more convenient and interesting forms for everyday things.

I enjoy creating many of my fringe ideas, from a paper lamp to a PC table. many of my projects come out crude and unrefined, however, each time I attempt a project I learn more about the craft.

My Ambition

To use the skills learned in design and engineering to aid the locomotion industry. It is my personal belief that America is on the verge of a Transportation revolution where train and rail will dominate travel between cities and cross-country. I want to be a part of this push for rail and I believe that great design is one of the ways to make rail a desirable method of travel.

My design inspirations consist of natural materials such as stone, glass, and metal. I find these materials to be most satisfying because it is shaping raw natural elements to my own design ideas.
