About Me

My name is Hana and I’m currently in the Biological Engineering pre-major, but am interested in the Biological Engineering. I am commuting this year and live in Galena, OH. I like hanging out with friends and reading when I have spare time. My favorite book currently is ‘A Man Called Ove’ but I’m always open to book suggestions! I listen to music almost 24/7 and love finding new songs to listen to. My goal for my future career is to be able to help people one-on-one. Ever since I was young I have loved community service and volunteering to help those who need it the most. I am fortunate enough to have a mother who is very involved in helping others and works for a nonprofit organization called Muslim Family Services that helps with families who are in need. Volunteering and working firsthand with the community was important for me in finding my passion for the future.

In a recent strength-finder quiz, I received the following five words as how to describe me:

– connectedness

– restorative

– intellection

– input

– positivity

I feel sentiment towards these words as they bring light to what I find important and what I try to associate myself with. Anyone who knows me probably won’t believe me when I say this, but I used to be very quiet and awkward around people. Feeling connected to others helps me feel not only like I have people to lean on, but I can be that someone for people to rely on or just someone to talk to. Being the reason for someone’s smile or laugh can turn my entire day around. I also see restoration and intellection as things I hope to achieve for my future.
