The artifact that represents who I am that is connected with my first Autumn semester of college is my guitar. My guitar was something at home that could always be relied upon to bring me peace and joy, and this has continued into college. Even though I have been stuck under a high course load and other responsibilities I still make time to enjoy improving myself through music. The guitar represents the side of me that isn’t consumed with perfectionism and stress, but a channel for anything that I’ve been suppressing to make its way out. Guitar is a reminder that there is something else in the world besides work.

About Me

My name Is Elijah George but I regularly go by Eli. I’m a first year biomedical engineering student and a part of the humanitarian engineering scholars program at Ohio State. I’m originally from Findlay Ohio and went to Findlay High school with approximately 400 students in my class. I hope to complete my undergraduate in biomedical engineering and to earn an MBA at some point in my college career.

I’ve been an outdoorsman all my life and always feel my best when I’m surrounded by nature. Some of my favorite things to do are hunting and fishing and hiking(in mountains specifically). My main work experience has been in construction and working on the farm, I hope to subsidize these with research/lab work during my time at OSU. Anatomy has been by far my favorite subject so far in school and my career goal is to work in the medical field to design and produce prosthetics or other needed medical equipment.

Artifacts

When I turned 16 my car automatically became my most prized possession. It opened up a world of possibilities for work and for play and for everything in between. The car allowed me to have decent jobs that weren’t within biking distance of my house and provided an escape to some of my favorite places as shown in the picture. The car also shows the hard work that went into affording the purchase of and learning the skills to maintain what I view as the best car ever produced. Through my time with the Cooper I’ve spent many hours running its diagnostic codes and learning how German engineered cars work and don’t work. To me this car represents my dedication to the work that it takes to enjoy what life gives you.
