Cork/Rubber Center-
- 2 semi-circular shells of black rubber about 5/3″ thick
- layer of red rubber 3/32″ is molded to the outside of the black rubber
- The sphere is molded into a perfect circle
- A thin layer of cement is applied to the surface to help as an adhesive for the yarn

Yarn-
- Gray New Zealand sheep’s wool yarn
- 3 layers of wool yarn is wound around the cover of the rubber center pill
- Using a machine the wool yarn is wound around for even tension to eliminate soft spots
- A final layer of cotton yarn is applied in order to keep the wool yarn in place for an even surface
Stitched Cowhide-
- Tennessee Holstein Cowhide
- 2 pieces of cowhide are cut into 2 figure eight patterns
- Each pattern covers half of the ball
- The pieces are stabled to the wound ball
- Hand sewn using waxed red thread

I wish they didn’t use cowhide, because I have that exact breed of cow and I love my cow so much. If I sold it and it got turned into a baseball I would be sad. I feel like they should use something else like leather.
